Interview with Super Mum Rachel Thaiday!

Professional family supported by trusted nanny care in Brisbane

We chat to Rachel about the benefits of hiring a nanny for her family, tips on how she gets her gorgeous minis out and active, and also some great advice for other hard-working mums!

Why Trusted In‑Home Support Matters for Busy Families

Modern motherhood looks very different to what it once did. For many professional families, juggling career demands, family life, and personal wellbeing requires thoughtful support — especially without extended family nearby.

At Mini Connections Nanny Agency, we work closely with families across Brisbane and the Gold Coast who value calm routines, emotional wellbeing, and trusted care. In this feature, we sat down with Rachel Thaiday, a dedicated mum navigating the realities of modern family life, to share her honest insights on parenting, balance, and support.

Navigating Motherhood in a Busy World

Like many parents today, Rachel balances multiple responsibilities while remaining deeply committed to her family. Parenthood, she shares, is equal parts rewarding and demanding — often requiring adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to ask for help.

For families managing careers, travel, or limited support networks, these challenges are especially familiar.

The Importance of Support Systems

Rachel emphasises how vital it is for parents to feel supported — emotionally and practically.

Whether it’s managing daily routines, caring for children while working, or simply having breathing space to reset, reliable support can transform family life. This is something we consistently hear from HNF families who work with Mini Connections.

Trusted care allows parents to remain present and engaged without feeling overwhelmed.

What Has Motherhood Taught You?

Rachel speaks openly about the lessons motherhood brings — patience, perspective, and the importance of prioritising wellbeing.

She highlights how children thrive in environments where routines are calm, communication is clear, and caregivers are consistent. These foundations don’t just support children — they support parents too.

Advice for Other Parents

Rachel’s advice is refreshingly grounded:

  • Let go of unrealistic expectations

  • Ask for support before burnout sets in

  • Choose care that aligns with your family’s values

  • Prioritise connection over perfection

This mindset is shared by many families who choose private nanny care as a long‑term solution rather than a short‑term fix.

Why Many Families Choose Nanny Care

For families without nearby relatives or flexible schedules, working with a trusted nanny agency offers peace of mind and stability.

Compared to group care, nanny support provides:

  • One‑on‑one attention

  • Consistent routines

  • Reduced illness disruption

  • Care within the child’s familiar environment

At Mini Connections, we specialise in matching families with professional nannies who understand discretion, emotional intelligence, and the rhythm of modern family life.

Supporting Families Who Value Balance

Rachel’s story reflects what many families experience — the need for trusted support that allows parents to show up fully at home and work.

At Mini Connections Nanny Agency, we proudly support families across Brisbane and the Gold Coast with personalised, professional in‑home nanny care designed around each family’s lifestyle.

What is your favourite part about being a Super Mum?

My favourite part of being a super Mum (some days) is watching my little girls blossom into beautiful little humans that are caring and thoughtful to others and the world we live in. They are super special to me and to think that is a reflection on our parenting makes my heart super full.

Do you have any advice for our other hard-working mums out there about the benefits of having a Nanny?

My advice would be to give it a go and get some help. In this day and age as busy, successful women we feel we should not be asking for help which I can say I was the exact same.

Having someone to help you manage those times when you just can’t juggle things or need someone to help with all the small things, this is where we can allow ourselves the slack and have someone there to help us. Whether it’s a little or a lot of help, just ask and give yourself a pat on the back for accepting some help. Even super women need some help from time to time!
